IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE
When you use Aila, you are interacting with an artificial intelligence system and automated services, not a human travel agent. This disclosure is made to comply with applicable transparency laws, including the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.

BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICES, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREED TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND OUR TERMS OF SERVICE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SERVICES.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services governed by their own privacy policies.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

You do not need to provide personal information simply to browse publicly accessible content. However, to use core functionality of Aila—especially booking and personalized travel intelligence—we collect certain information.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account and Identity Information
Name, email address, phone number, password or authentication credentials.

• Authentication via Third Parties
If you sign in using Apple, Google, or similar providers, we receive limited profile information (such as name and email) as permitted by your account settings on those services.

• Government-Issued Identification (Stored Securely)
For seamless booking and compliance with travel provider and regulatory requirements, we may collect and securely store government-issued identification data, such as:

  • full legal name
  • date of birth
  • nationality
  • passport number or national ID number
  • expiration date and related required verification fields

This information is accessed and used only when you initiate a booking and only if the relevant travel provider requires it. Access is strictly restricted and logged. No other service or internal function may access this data.

• Travel and Booking Information
Itineraries, destinations, travel dates, booking requests, reservations, tickets, preferences, constraints, and related metadata.

• Payment and Transaction Metadata
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). We do not store full payment card or bank account numbers. We may retain limited metadata such as transaction IDs, payment status, card brand, last four digits, billing country, and subscription status.

• User Content
Chat messages, prompts, uploaded files or images, feedback, reviews, and other information you voluntarily provide.

• Communications
Messages exchanged with customer support, surveys, feedback, and issue reports.

• Preferences and Personalization
Language, accessibility settings, travel styles, budget ranges, and inferred preferences derived from your use of the Services.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device and Technical Data
Device type, operating system, app version, model, manufacturer, screen resolution, language settings, IP address, and general region.

• Usage and Interaction Data
Pages or screens viewed, features used, session duration, navigation paths, access times, error logs, and performance diagnostics.

• Identifiers
Internal user IDs, cookies, mobile advertising identifiers, and similar technologies.

1.3 Location Data

  • Precise location (GPS), when you grant permission, to enable maps, navigation, nearby results, pickup/drop-off suggestions, and real-time travel assistance.
  • Approximate location derived from IP address or device settings.

You can control location permissions through your device settings. If precise location is disabled, some features may be limited.

2. SENSITIVE INFORMATION AND DATA MINIMIZATION

Aila processes certain categories of data that may be considered sensitive under some laws (such as government ID and precise location). We follow strict data-minimization principles:

  • We collect sensitive data only when necessary to provide requested services.
  • Data is used only for the specific purpose for which it was collected.
  • Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized systems and roles.
  • Sensitive data is not used for advertising or profiling outside your direct use of the Services.

3. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use personal information to:

  • operate and provide the Services
  • create and manage user accounts
  • generate itineraries, recommendations, and AI-driven insights
  • facilitate bookings and issue tickets or reservations
  • provide maps, navigation, alerts, and real-time updates
  • personalize and improve user experience
  • detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • support research, testing, and feature development using aggregated or anonymized data

AI systems may generate probabilistic outputs and recommendations. Final travel decisions remain the user’s responsibility.

4. HOW WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not sell personal data.

We share personal information only with third parties that are necessary to provide the Services you explicitly or implicitly request.

These include:

  • Travel and Booking Providers — Airlines, rail operators, hotels, mobility services, and distributors, solely to complete bookings or reservations you initiate.
  • Payment Processors — Payment data is processed by providers such as Stripe in accordance with their privacy and security standards.
  • Infrastructure and Service Providers — Cloud hosting, analytics, mapping, AI inference providers, and security vendors acting as processors under contractual obligations.
  • Legal and Regulatory Authorities — When required to comply with law, valid legal processes, or to protect rights, safety, or property.

No personal data is shared with unrelated third parties. No third party may access user data beyond what is necessary to deliver the specific service used by the user.

5. AI TRANSPARENCY

Aila uses artificial intelligence to support planning, optimization, and conversational assistance. We provide clear notice that users are interacting with AI systems and implement safeguards appropriate to the risks and use cases of such systems.

6. USER RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • access personal data
  • correct inaccurate data
  • request deletion
  • restrict or object to processing
  • data portability
  • withdraw consent

Requests can be submitted to: privacy@lunarguide.ai
We may verify identity before fulfilling requests.

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Government ID data is retained securely to enable seamless future bookings and can be deleted upon user request, subject to legal retention requirements.

8. SECURITY

We use encryption, access controls, monitoring, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and users share information at their own risk.

9. CHILDREN

The Services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Data may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where required, transfers are protected using appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
